TAGN ==> TRUE

Elevating Excellence:
A Strategic Shift Towards TRUE Accreditation Initiatives

This guide has been developed to assist you transition as smoothly as possible with the closure of the Travel Advisor Global Network, Host Agency program.

Existing Bookings Under Deposit / Final Payment: You will continue to have access to these bookings and manage them accordingly until travel has completed.

Quotes: You will have until Feb. 23rd to finalize and book any outstanding quotes you have provided to clients under the TAGN IATA Number.

Commissions: All bookings made must be entered into TESS per your contract within 30 days after the booking origination date. Bookings not entered in TESS by March 25th will forfeit all commission.

Supplier Access: Access to Suppliers Booking Portals will remain active under your TAGN Registration so you may continue to manage client bookings. Any new supplier registration request submitted in January will not be approved.

Ensemble: Access to Ensemble will remain through Feb. 23rd. If you have active bookings in ADX your ADX access will continue until the last trip has completed.

Sub-Agents: Sub-Agent applications submitted in January will not be accepted, refunds will be given.

IATA-CLIA ID Cards: Applications for either IATA or CLIA submitted in January will not be approved, refunds will be given.

Payments to TAGN: Mentioned in the closure announcement your recurring membership payments were discontinued the week of January 15th.

Transitioning from TAGN to TRUE Code Accreditation

You will receive a complimentary TRUE Code for one-year, TRUE Codes will be assigned by Feb. 19th. You will receive an email announcing your TRUE Code along with a pre-recorded webinar on how to run your business with TRUE. TRUE is independent accreditation where you are the Agency of Record always earning 100% of your commissions. Once you receive your TRUE Code you will have 30 days to submit the required documentation to operate under TRUE.

  1. 1. Proof of Legal Structure: Corporation, LLC, DBA or fictitious name registration
  2. 2. Seller of Travel Licenses if you reside in California, Florida, Hawaii, Washington, or Iowa

TRUE Suppliers

You will discover that nearly all suppliers with whom you previously booked using the TAGN IATA number also accept the TRUE Code. This will ensure a seamless transition for you as you manage your travel business moving forward with the TRUE Code.

With the exception of a few hotel chains, the TRUE code is accepted by more than 140 suppliers. You can access the list of these suppliers on the your dashboard under the "Booking with Your TRUE Code" section or directly via the directory link: . This comprehensive directory includes contact information, a registration link, and commission percentages for your convenience.

We have also created this at-a-glance booking guide .

If a TRUE code is not accepted directly, as is the case with Marriott Hotels and Best Western Hotels, many booking platforms offer alternative options. Platforms like Vaxvacationaccess, which encompasses the entire ALG Group and features a dedicated hotel-only booking engine, along with Bedsonline, Expedia, and Price Agencies, provide a wide array of global hotel choices. Additionally, Vacation Express specializes in Caribbean and Mexico properties.

Select your preferred suppliers and register your new TRUE number as an AGENCY, ensuring you have essential documents on hand, including your TRUE Certificate, W9, and agency details. Some suppliers may require verification of agency changes, prompting you to advise them of your previous IATA number during the new registration process. We are here to provide individual assistance as needed for any suppliers requiring information from CCRA. If you have any questions on transitioning a supplier from a TAGN agent under a host agency over to your own TRUE Agency, please contact us so we can guide you through this process with the specific supplier.

Should you encounter a supplier that doesn't accept the TRUE number, please inform us so that we can reach out to that specific supplier. Your feedback is valuable in ensuring a seamless experience.

While other accreditation options may appear more affordable at first glance, none of them match the comprehensive support, training, and networking opportunities offered by TRUE.

Expanding Supplier Network

Advancing supplier goals remains a preeminent TRUE focus always. The TRUE team has been hard at work expanding our supplier partnerships and negotiating with suppliers to attain increased commission levels for our member agencies. Simultaneously, we collaborate closely with existing suppliers, streamlining the TRUE code acceptance and management process for swift commission disbursement directly to agencies. Beyond that, we continuously introduce distinctive opportunities for travel advisors through our supplier partners, including travel agent familiarization trips, in-person and online trainings, special promotions, and exclusive discounts.

TRUE members can now access the newly launched live Supplier Directory via your online Dashboard. This directory is updated on an ongoing basis for your ultimate convenience and features not only traditional hotels, resorts, cruise lines, and more, but also DMCs, tourism boards and specialty tour operators that may not be on other accreditations' supplier lists! Always keep in mind, of course, that even if a specific hotel property does not currently accept TRUE, you can likely book them through a wholesaler or other third party that accepts the TRUE code and will pay you commission.

Training and Development

On from there, TRUE continues ramping up its Training and Development programs to further advance member agency growth. We are very pleased to share the valuable range of new and enhanced offerings to cater to member needs including:

  • Live and Interactive new "Office Hours" series presented in an open forum format over lunchtime lead by our Member Services where advisors can get real time answers and advice on any topic related to their travel business.
  • 1-to-1 Professional Consultation: We have made private consultations available with our Member Services team, conveniently offered through a scheduler link on our website
  • Educational Webinars -- Featuring trending topics and new technology and Marketing "How To's"
  • Monthly Supplier Training Webinars
  • PowerSolutions LIVE -- elevated with focused themes and expanded opportunities including more events to be held outside the continental US. With last year's program in Puerto Rico selling out, we are currently in the process of developing additional programs featuring FAMs for advisors.

Local Support

Beyond all of these new programs, TRUE is revamping its Local Chapters including a Virtual Chapter with meetings to support members. Chapters meet in person and connect you with suppliers in your area. Plus, these are great opportunities to network with fellow TRUE members, connect with your local BDMs as well, and to review products and destinations.

This is just a glance of what’s new in 2024 with TRUE. We hope that this offers a different perspective on how TRUE membership has been designed and all that we bring you beyond any other type of accreditation – from the chance to have 25 advisors under one TRUE code; to supplier training, networking, and special commission offers; to expert support to grow your business – all offered exclusively by TRUE.

We welcome your feedback at any time. Please feel free to email us at membership@ccra.com with input or ideas on prospective new programs that you may want to see as we continue advancing TRUE.

Transitioning from TAGN to Another Host Agency

While we encourage you and believe that TRUE is the ideal opportunity for your business, we understand that not everyone will be able to meet the requirements to operate under TRUE. There are many Host Agencies in our industry, please proceed with caution when you are interviewing these agencies. You will find Host Agency Reviews to be helpful while researching reputable Host Agencies. https://hostagencyreviews.com/
